About

Hi! My name is Aubrey Thanks for checking out my blog(s)!

I have been taking pictures as long as I can remember. I've owned several dozen camera, most of which I broke. I never realized how passionate I was for photography, or art in general, until I found myself without the time to pursue it. IN the years leading up to college, I participated in absolutely everything in fine arts that I could. In college I studied cell biology and chemistry and a number of other areas of science. I pushed aside my love for band and orchestra, (I'm a flute/piccolo player) choir, (altos represent!) musical theater, writing, drawing, and photography in order to achieve the necessary grades required for medical school.

Flash forward 3 years and here's me: in my 9th semester of college, dying to get out of science altogether (no medical school for me!) and starved of art of any kind. I found myself craving for a creative outlet and desperate to do anything besides memorize amino acids or the Krebs Cycle. I graduated with my bachelors degree, and the first thing I did was enroll myself in a photography course at the community college and look for a community band to audition for. With no success in latter, I started playing on my own again, even picking up my guitar and tinkling around (albeit horribly) on my piano.

I learned a lot during the course of my photography class, and met some amazing people who have helped me in so many ways. I hope to continue to develop my skills and at some point, be able to quit my job in the research lab and focus of photography full time.

I love photographing all aspects of nature - people, animals, landscapes, etc, and as such, most of what I post will be along those lines. I try to break out of my mold every once in a while and do something completely different. It's not always as fun as I'd like, but it is challenging and good for me! I try not to get too caught up in being creative so that I miss the fun in life with my husband, family, and friends.

Please enjoy the images I've shot. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Aubrey.
